Integrated Gas Company SAOC (IGC) conducted the Gas Allocation Strategy Workshop on 21st May 2024 at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat. The workshop brought together critical stakeholders from different entities in Oman. The main aim of the workshop was to share and collect feedback on the gas allocation strategy and the proposed sector prioritization model. In tune with Oman Vision 2040 overarching targets and decarbonization commitments, the workshop emphasized the importance of participation of key stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall national priorities.

The main objectives of the workshop were to share key outcomes from Oman’s gas sector baselining and benchmarking/archetype comparison exercise and explain the newly proposed gas allocation process, and governance. Other objectives were to share the base allocation approach and align on the approach on sectoral prioritization for future gas allocations.

The successful workshop encouraged in-depth dialogues and showcased the focused efforts by IGC leadership team to ensure transparency and alignment in the management of the gas sector in Oman in order to deliver sustainable energy solutions to the nation, for now and the future.
